The Netcoder job form goes on your careers page with a few lines of HTML. Applicants pick one of your opened jobs, or apply spontaneously, and send their resume. Your AI recruiting agent adds them to the job and answers them by email within minutes.
1. Before you start
- Have a Recruiting agent. On its page in the Netcoder app, in the Channels section, switch on Job Form and the email: the agent answers applicants by email.
- Open your jobs: only jobs with the status Opened are listed in the form.
- Put the form on one of the web sites of your company: on another site, the form says that applications are not open.
2. Installation
Add an empty element where the form should appear, and the following script tag just before the
closing </body> tag of the page. Replace the placeholder values with your keys.
<div id="nc-job-form"></div>
<script src="https://cdn.netcoder.com/jobform.v1.js"
data-backend-url="https://relay.netcoder.ca/jobform"
data-client-key="YOUR-CLIENT-GUID"
data-agent-key="YOUR-AGENT-GUID"
data-language="en"
data-container="#nc-job-form"></script>
The simplest way to get it is from the Netcoder app: open your AI agent, then Test & Deploy, and the code icon of Test Job Form. The code is shown with your keys already filled in, ready to copy.
3. Configuration parameters
Set on the script tag.
| Attribute | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
data-backend-url | Yes | Address of the Netcoder relay: https://relay.netcoder.ca/jobform | |
data-client-key | Yes | Your client key | |
data-agent-key | Yes | The key of your Recruiting agent | |
data-language | en or fr: the labels of the form, and the language of the answer | en | |
data-title | Title above the form | ||
data-container | CSS selector of the element to draw the form in | Before the script | |
data-accent-color | Colour of the button | #D97955 | |
data-accent-text-color | Colour of the text of the button | #FFFFFF |
4. How it works
- The form lists your opened jobs, and Spontaneous application last.
- The applicant gives a name and an email, picks a job and attaches up to 3 files, 10 MB in all: PDF, Word (.doc, .docx), OpenDocument (.odt), RTF, text, JPEG or PNG. A resume, a cover letter or a certificate, for example.
- The application is sent to Netcoder at once, and the applicant is thanked right away.
- Your agent reads the files and adds the applicant to the job picked. A spontaneous application goes to the opened job that matches it best.
- Your agent answers by email, usually within minutes. When no file can be read as a resume, it asks the applicant to reply with one.
5. Styling with CSS
For more than the button colours, style the form from your own stylesheet. Start your selectors with
body to win, rather than using !important.
body .ncj-primary { padding: 12px 28px; }
| Selector | What it is |
|---|---|
.ncj | The form |
.ncj-title | The title |
.ncj-field | A label and its field |
.ncj-hint | The note under the files |
.ncj-primary | The Apply button |
.ncj-status | The messages under the button |
6. Testing and troubleshooting
- Test before you install — Test Job Form, under Test & Deploy in the app, sends a real application: the applicant is added to the job, and you receive the answer of the agent by email.
- “Applications are not open at the moment” — the agent does not have the Job Form channel on, or the page is not on a web site of your company.
- Only “Spontaneous application” in the list — no job has the status Opened. Applicants can still apply.
- Files refused — more than 3 files, more than 10 MB in all, or a type not listed above.
- “Invalid configuration” — a key is missing or malformed. Copy the code from the app.
- No answer by email — check your spam folder, then that the agent has the email channel on.
